Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is an Indian television soap opera that airs on Star Plus and has running successfully on the small-screen even after completing more than a decade’s run. It premiered on 12th January 2009 and is the second longest-running Indian television soap opera, which is helmed by Rajan Shahi.
Initially starred Hina Khan and Karan Mehra in the lead roles as Akshara and Naitik, it currently stars Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan, initially as the show’s lead couple of Naira Goenka and Kartik Goenka (KaiRa) and now, Shivangi plays the parallel lead character of her former character Naira’s doppelganger – Sirat Shekhawat, after Naira’s death-twist in the plot.
While the audience was rooting for Kartik-Sirat’s union in Naira’s absence, the introduction of Ranveer (Karan Kundra) as Sirat’s former lover changed the show’s entire future narrative; with Sirat-Ranveer’s marriage being initiated by none other than Kartik. Hence, the sudden change in the storyline has got it’s fans and viewers curious regarding the show’s future trends.
Amid their shootings, we’ve always witnessed Shivangi’s goofy avatar whenever the shoot’s off. The actress is very active on her social media handles (especially on Instagram) and loves to keep her fans updated regarding every single development in both her professional and personal lives.
Now only that, she’s also an enthusiastic follower of all the latest and epic online trends. Earlier, we’d witnessed how she had included her show’s and that of the then-new show Mann Ki Awaz Pratigya 2’s entire cast in the #Pawri trend, which was first set by a Pakistani social media influencer through one of her travel stories. Shivangi was seen narrating the trend’s dialogue with a twist, which sounded as, “Yeh hum hain, yeh Pratigya hain aur yahan humari…shooting ho rahi haiiiiin!”. That day, actress Pooja Gor aka lead actress of the Hindi show Pratigya 2 was spotted on YRKKH’s set for promoting the on-screen commencement of her show’s second season.
Nowadays, another trend is going viral, wherein celebs and commoners are creating innovative videos and reels by using the rendition of the 2007 movie Om Shanti Om’s popular track ‘Aankhon Mein Teri’ as it’s backdrop. This version of the OG song is more soothing and slower and it uses a narrative of a female’s voice before playing the track, that goes like, “I don’t believe in soulmates….but,” ….and the track proceeds.
Using the same track, Shivangi has yet again joined this trend’s bandwagon by dropping a reel on it 2 weeks back. She captioned the reel as, “#reels #trending”.
Many celebrities like Neha Adhvik Mahajan, Harsha Khandeparkar, Vrushika Mehta and others have also reacted and commented under Shivangi’s reel.
