If Game of Thrones was made on Indian Television
As the fifth installment of the popular HBO fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, is scheduled to air on 12 April, the excitement level is increasing with each passing day. And all the fans over the world have already started speculating about the next unexpected twist in the show. And to take the excitement level higher team Tellychakkar decided to present you with a desi version of the cast. Take a look…
Ronit Roy as Eddard Stark
Eddard aka Ned Stark, a virtuous, honourable patriarch of the house Stark, is a man of his words, who paid the cost of being loyal to his King. After his character portrayal of K D Pathak, who else rather than Ronit Roy can essay an inspiring character like Ned Stark.
Digangana Suryavanshi as Daenerys Targaryen
Young, innocent and inexperienced girl in a male dominated world starts her journey only to prove herself as one of the strongest players of the game of thrones. She learns the trick of the trade and rightly claims what is her birth right. The innocent but intelligent look of Digangana makes her the appropriate choice to become the Mother of Dragons.
Amitabh Bachchan as Tywin Lannister
With Anurag Kashyap’s show Yudh, the Shahenshah has successfully debuted in the small screen fiction space. And once BigB is there we cannot think of anyone else to essay this composed and brutal mastermind named Tywin Lannister.
Shaheer Sheikh as Jon Snow
Illegitimate son of Ned Stark, who joins the Night’s Watch, is a tortured, angry, strong and tough young man. After his portrayal of Arjun in Mahabharat, we are pretty sure that Shaheer will be able to pull off the role with ease. Moreover, think about Snow and Shaheer’s female fan following (wink wink).
Ahsaas Channa as Arya Stark
The young and innocent Ahsaas, in the beginning of her career has mostly played the character of young boys and that too with aplomb. Aha, does that sound similar to Arya Stark’s life? Well don’t you think readers that she is the apt one?
Shweta Tiwari as Cersei Lannister
Gorgeous, manipulative, complicated and determined woman, who fiercely loves her children. A true believer of the phrase ‘Tears aren’t a woman’s only weapon’, she might not be the ideal woman but everyone loves to hate her. After looking at Shweta and the way she is essaying the character of a manipulative woman in Begusarai, we don’t have any doubts about her potentials.
Kunal Karan Kapoor as Robb Stark
Bounded by family duties and responsibilities, the King in the North is surely one of the most popular characters in the series. Intense eyes, good looks and the rebellious nature are the three words that aptly define the eldest son of Ned Stark. Impatient to consider the future consequences he meets a tragic ending. We cannot think anyone else than Kunal to essay such an attractive character.
Indraneil Sengupta as Jaime Lannister
Handsome, arrogant and egoistic Kingslayer has to be someone, who will be able to live up to the expectations of audience and who’s better than Indraneil Sengupta for essaying Jaime Lannister. Moreover, it will be a treat for us to witness Indraneil and Shweta’s sizzling on-screen chemistry.
Gaurav Chopraa as Oberyn Martell
Charming, charismatic, cool and sexy, Oberyn Martell is one man who can make any woman go weak on her knees. He arrives at King’s Landing to avenge his sister’s death and to make others suffer who wronged his family. Oberyn has to be someone who can kill with his charm, so who else apart from this handsome hunk of television.
Parth Samthaan as Joffrey Baratheon
An evil, cruel and dangerous young king- that’s what perfectly describes Joffrey Baratheon oops Lannister. Keeping in mind of Parth’s acting chops in Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, we have full faith in this talented young lad that he will do full justice to the role.
Mouni Roy as Margaery Tyrell
Sultry, seductress Margaery is someone, who has surely mastered the art of dominating men in her own way. She is hot, beautiful and sexy- features which Mouni carries gracefully. Moreover even we are done with Mouni’s goody goody avatar, it’s time to turn bold girl!!
Kay Kay Menon as Petyr Baelish
After watching Kay Kay making a grand comeback on small screen with Yudh we cannot think of anyone else except for this seasoned actor to portray the role of this spine chilling villain. Imagine Kay Kay backstabbing Ned Stark aka Ronit by pointing a dagger at his throat and uttering those cursed words ‘I did warn you not to trust me’.
Ram Kapoor as Lord Varys
Master of whispers, Lord Varys, is one sophisticated and intelligent character, who though been wronged by circumstances has always choose to opt for the right path. Try to picture a bald Ram Kapoor, and his damn good acting chops. Doesn’t he make a perfect Lord Varys?
Siddharth Nigam as Bran Stark
The latest entrant in the list of wonder kids is Siddharth Nigam. Not only he is an able gymnast but also a stunning performer. It will be our loss that we won’t be able to witness his gymnastic skills in this role. Oh wait!! This young lad can ride horses, so may be the Dothraki way of fighting!!!
Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister
Firstly, we cannot think of any other actor in the world to pull of the role of the ‘demon imp monkey’ with such a grace. And secondly, by replacing Peter we simply cannot insult the living legend. Take a bow man. Oh, but we do have some good voice over artists and dialogue coaches, who can dub his voice.
On that note, let’s gear up readers to welcome back the Lannisters, the Starks, the Targaryens and the Martells as the ‘Winter is Coming’ oops the ‘Game of Thrones 5’ is coming.
