The hot and handsome Arjun Bijlani is a multi-tasker for sure!! As he matches step to step playing the elegant prince Ritik in Colors’ successful show Naagin, Arjun gears up to perform double duties, that of the owner and player for his cricket team, Mumbai Tigers at the BCL Tournament.
Here is Arjun in a chat with on his show, passion for cricket and on his responsibilities for this BCL.
You are working with two gorgeous ladies, Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan in Naagin. How has been the experience?
Mouni is a wonderful co-star, and so is Adaa. Both the ladies are really sweet. Mouni and I get along very well, and are great friends now. I knew her even before the show. Now we get ample time to spend on the set.
How does it feel to be part of the top-rated TV show?
The feeling is excellent. Naagin is doing extremely well, and there will be many shows coming with a finite format in the future. Also, the experience of shooting on a film camera for a TV show has been really good.
Your look in Naagin is being appreciated. What do you have to say about it?
Yes, people are appreciating my look in the show. I leaned down specially for the show, because I portray the role of a prince, and I wanted to look one. Since I have gotten lean, the blazers that I put on get a great fitting. Our designer Shibani has done a great job.
How is your rapport with Producer Ekta Kapoor?
This is my second show, actually back to back with Ekta Kapoor. She is a great producer and has an amazing creative mind. She is god-gifted, and has a great knack of gauging the pulse of the audience. The best part is that we have studied from the same school (smiles).
How has fatherhood treated you?
Aww, Ayaan is very Godly and amazing. I call him a super kid. I enjoy every second I spend with him.
What does friendship mean to you?
Friends play a very important role in a person’s life. Sadly, I do not have many friends. However, I know I can count on the ones I have.
So the focus is on cricket now with BCL, is it?
Yes, being the team owner of Mumbai Tigers, my vision for the team is that we should lift the trophy. At the same time, I want to have a lot of fun and enjoy the BCL tournament.
How are you shouldering responsibilities of being the owner?
My goal is to keep the team together and to make sure that players are happy. I believe happiness gives rise to a strong team.
Tell us about how good a player you are?
I am a great batsman and bowler. However, I might not be able to bowl this time around, owing to my shoulder problem.
Who are your favorite cricketers?
Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are my favorites.
How do you think BCL will appeal to the viewers?
Cricket is like a religion and passion in India. BCL is an excellent format wherein one can enjoy the game and have fun too. For the first time, we have 200 actors taking part in the show. So we can say that BCL has brought the entire acting fraternity together.
