Aakash Aath launches unique musical show 'Parody Paraaye Bawali Gaan'
Aakash Aath launches a new comedy based musical non-fiction show titled ‘Parody Paraaye Bawali Gaan’, which promises to make viewers laugh out loud with its rib tickling moments.
Directed by Suprio Ghosh, the show would be anchored by popular actor Biswanath Basu.
Talking about the concept of the show, the director said, “There is a locality named Parody para, where ‘Parody Kattik’ (Biswanath) aka PK is a popular boy. He is a funny character who always tries to compose parody (satire) songs but never succeeds. He is always surrounded by his two followers, Ghonta (Deep Palodhi) and Phuli (Papiya). Ghonta is a barber while Phuli works as a maid-servant.”
“These two followers of Kattik collect spicy, funny as well as serious news and gossips from the para and pass them on to him, who in turn tries to compose parody songs. But he fails miserably and the singer comes on the set and sings a hilarious parody song. In this manner the show will proceed,” he added.
Praising the anchor, he quipped, “We are trying to exploit his sense of humour and comic timing and make this a fun show…Hope this will appeal to everyone.”
Biswanath is super excited about the show and quipped why he found it different and interesting, “I have heard such songs previously, but have never come across a TV show which has been conceptualized centred around the parody songs. Initially I was in a dilemma but later on I was completely convinced about the idea. Also, I was completely bowled over by Narenda’s sense of writing and the language.”
He continued, “It’s a comedy show but I have to be careful with my words because at times we would be dealing with sensitive issues too. Parody is often used as a tool to say something to someone straight on the face. Thus I would be careful enough while delivering dialogues, so as to not hurt people’s sentiments.”
Naren Bhattacharya is the person behind the script and the parody songs.
Speaking about the type of songs that he has chosen for the show, he said, “All the songs would be based on popular Hindi and Bengali numbers. The songs that people are aware have been chosen, because it will be easier for the masses to understand the parody.”
Music director of the show is Debjit Roy and some of the singers who will be making appearances here include Neepobithi Ghosh, Sourav Das, Aritra Dasgupta, Ahenjita, Rahul Deb and Ankita Roy.
Watch this interesting show from Monday to Wednesday at 9.30 pm.
