I am not being overshadowed by Saumya: Kajol Srivastav
The charming and bubbly lady Kajol Srivastav, known for her role in Badi Devrani, is all set to enthrall audience once again with her stint as Devi in Colors’ historical drama Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Contiloe).
Jumping with joy of bagging the prominent role opposite Mohit Raina, Kajol says that she is extremely happy to sign the show.
Unfortunately, the lady previously was all set to join the cast of Kumkum Bhagya as Bulbul, but, later on things didn’t turn out to be well for her. “Last year during December I joined Kumkum Bhagya. Later on, during March the creative team did inform me that my track will not be shown for next two months, as they wanted to wrap the ongoing track first, which was providing them with good TRP numbers. Then I gave auditions for Ashoka and thankfully got selected.”
“Though I have always wanted to work with Balaji, nevertheless I am happy that I have been roped in for a big project like Ashoka. I am a very positive person and I do believe that anything that happens without our will, is indeed a plan made by God”, adds Kajol.
The chirpy lady seems not to be bothered at all to get sidelined by the presence of stars like Saumya Seth and Mohit Raina. “Devi is the first wife of Ashoka, who had a strong influence in the shaping up of Indian history and no one can change this fact. I am overwhelmed that my character is being well received and I am confident that I will never get overshadowed by Saumya. Moreover, I have the advantage, which Saumya and Mohit doesn’t possess. Siddharth (Nigam) and Reem (Sheikh) have done a superb job as child actors, naturally audiences and critics tend to draw a comparison. But, Devi’s absence in Ashoka’s early days has given me privilege to get away with such analogy.”
Ask the pretty lady about Siddharth and Mohit’s performance, with all smiles, Kajol replies, “There can be no comparison between Siddharth and Mohit as both of them are playing very different characters. Naturally, both of these actors have their own style of performing their characters. And I must say that both have done their jobs with grace and elan.”
We agree with you lady. And we wish you all the luck for your show.
